Appreciating Quality Education
Sheila and Julius Maiman |
Julius (’57) and Sheila Maiman are longtime supporters of Baruch College and stalwarts of Baruch’s Florida contingent of alums. Although Julius only spent two and a half years at Baruch College as a transfer student, his time was well spent. After Baruch College, he was accepted into graduate school and was told later that his acceptance was enhanced because of his Baruch education.
As important as the excellent academic foundation Julius received at Baruch College, he also made friendships for life with many of his fellow students. Within the past 50 years, Julius and Sheila have built successful careers and raised a family. Now, the proud couple is enjoying their retirement.
Rewards of a Charitable Gift Annuity
In 2004, Julius Maiman created a Charitable Gift Annuity at Baruch College. The CGA provides a steady income for life. “It helped me at the time by providing a great tax deduction in a year when I needed one. More important, it provides reliable income with about half being tax-free!” says Julius. This generous gift is Julius’ way of giving back to the institution that provided him with a first-rate education, successful career and lifelong friends.
